The Company is incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 and christened as "JP Insurance Surveyors & Loss Assessors Private Limited". Post incorporation, the Company is licensed with Corporate Surveyor and Loss Assessor by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) to undertake insurance surveys in Marine, Fire, Engineering & Motor departments under Corporate License No. IRDA/CORP/SLA - 200084. The basis of Corporate License status is achieved with the Company having its two Directors holding individual surveyor license of IRDAI. The survey work entrusted are undertaken keeping the interests of all concerned protected and adhering to the high ethical values of the profession.
Joseph Benedict is the Managing Director of the Company. He is a Electrical Engineer having served in the Indian Navy for 20 Yrs as an Artificer with hands on experience onboard Naval Ships and Aircrafts. Following his retirement from the Indian Navy, served with Agusta Westland UK for 5 years as Avionics Engineer for the recovery programme of Indian Naval Seaking Helicopters. Further to completing his contract with Agusta Westland, he joined the Lloyd's of London, Survey Agency in Kochi (India). During his tenure at Lloyd's Agency, was awarded Technical Cargo Surveying (TCS) and Cargo Claims & Recoveries Certificates by Lloyd's Agency Department, United Kingdom. He is proficient in survey of Products / Chemicals including cryogenic / Bulk Cargo Draft Survey / Discharge Supervision and an expert in Damage and Loss Assessment in Fire, Marine Cargo & Engineering Departments.
He is a holder of IRDAI Individual License No. IRDA/IND/SLA-85379 in Fire, Marine cargo & Engineering Depts. He is also Licentiate Member of Indian Institute of Insurance Surveyors and Loss Assessors (Membership No. L/S/09482) and an Associate Member of Aeronautical Society of India (Membership No. AM-6921).
Some of the key surveys undertaken by him include damage assessment of 114 x 20’ ISO containers containing Natural Uranium Concentrates conveyed onboard MV Stade imported from Kazakhstan, Salvage assessment of Container Cargo rescued post declaration of General Average of MV Jindal Kamakshi.
K Prasad is the Director (Operations) of the Company. He is a Mechanical Engineer having served in the Indian Navy for 20 Yrs as an Artificer with hands on experience onboard Naval Ships and Aircrafts. Following his retirement from the Indian Navy, served with the Lloyd's of London Survey Agency in Kochi (India). During his tenure at Lloyd's Agency was awarded Technical Cargo Surveying (TCS) Certificate by Lloyd's Agency Department, United Kingdom. He is proficient in survey of Products / Chemicals including cryogenic / Bulk Cargo Draft Survey / Discharge Supervision an expert in Damage and Loss Assessment in Fire, Marine Cargo & Motor Departments.
